Mom’s Chili

1 lb Ground Beef or Turkey
1 clove Garlic, minced
1 Onion, chopped
½ cup Parsley, chopped
1 tsp Oregano
2-3 tsp Chili Powder
½ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Pepper
1 can (19 oz) Tomatoes, undrained
1 can (19 oz) Kidney Beans
1 can (5½ oz) Tomato Paste
½ cup Water
Cheddar Cheese, grated

Brown meat in large pan, add garlic and onion lightly in large saucepan. Drain of excess fat. Add seasonings, tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato paste and water. Simmer covered 1 hour. Stirring occasionally. Serve in large bowls; sprinkle each serving with cheese if desired. Makes 8 servings.
